A BRIEF HISTORY OF SENIOR SECONDARY RY SCHOOL FOR SCIENCE, ETITI

The Senior Secondary School for Science Etiti, located at the former Etiti Campus of Imo State University was founded in 1988. This was in the late Navy Commodore Amadi Ikwechegh’s regime as a Military Governor/Administrator of old Imo State (1986 – 1989) under the Military Regime of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida as Head of State.

The Vision for the school was credited to Dr.Cecilia Okereke who played a very important role by taking her dreams of such novel acclaim to the Director of Science Resource Center in Imo State, one Dr Ibegbulam .

BRIEF HISTORY OF S4, ETITI OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

The Senior Secondary School for Science, Etiti Old Students Association (S4 Etiti Alumni Association) came into existence in 2011 and has passed through an Interim Leadership, led by Engr. Collins Onyeukwu; 1st Elected Executives, led by Mr. Chukwudi Ugo; 2nd Elected Executives, led by Dr. Jude Ohanele who handed over to the present Executives under the leadership of Engineer Magnus Orji.

Engr. Magnus Orji was reelected with his team to serve a second term of 2years, which would be coming to an end on 28th December, 2019. The alumni has in existence, Board of Trustees (BOT), under the leadership of Mr. Peter Inekwe as the Chairman.

There are presently, seven (7) existing Branches of the Association, namely: Owerri, Abia, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Lagos, London and Diaspora (For members residing outside Nigeria but not in London, where we have an existing branch). Akwa-Cross, Enugu and ANOA (Awka/Nnewi/Onitsha/Asaba) Branches are upcoming and hopefully would attain the full status in the nearest future.

The office of the Immediate Past President, Dr. Jude Ohanele, here in Owerri, is currently being used as our secretariat as we are yet to commence the construction of a befitting secretariat.
